JOINT MEETING WITH ISA-SJS AND AICHE-DVS
STUDENT NIGHT AT ROWAN UNIVERSITY FEBRUARY 25, 2004.

Cherry Hill, New Jersey, February 25, 2004.... The ISA South Jersey Section Executive Board announced that it had a successful Joint Meeting on February 25th with the AIChE-Delaware Valley Section at Rowan Hall Engineering Center, Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ, in support of 2004 Delaware Valley Engineers Week: February 20th-28th. 

Approximately twenty four (24) ISA and AIChE members, students and guests attended the joint meeting on February 25, 2004. Daniel Ebbert, President- ISA South Jersey Section, and William Youngblood, Chairman-AIChE Delaware Valley Section were present, along with engineering students from Rowan University and Drexel University. 

President Ebbert introduced the South Jersey Board members in attendance. He gave an overview of ISA and mentioned how ISA South Jersey engineers and technicians contribute to the arts and sciences for measurement and control in the various sciences and technologies and the engineering community. 

Guest speakers from ISA and AIChE were introduced by Moderator Ernie James. Each speaker presented an overview of their representative engineering positions and highlighted the steps in their career path that led to their current position. Speakers were:

- Kelley Kearns, Merck & Co. (Project Engineering) – AIChE

- Nicholas Yiantsos, Rockwell Automation A-B (Manufacturing Engineering) – ISA

- Doug Kriebel, Kriebel Engineered Equipment, Ltd. (Sales Engineering) – AIChE

- William Celenza, Jacobs Engineering Co. (Environmental Engineering) – AIChE

- Michael Rothaup, MER Consulting (Process Control Engineering) – ISA

- Ernie James, Smith Instrument Co, (Entrepreneur) – ISA
 

Each presentation was followed by a vigorous question and answer period in response to the student inquiries and concerns for job opportunities in engineering. 

In an earlier afternoon session to Rowan University engineering students, ISA South Section Member, Vince A. Small, P.E. of Miller-Remick Corporation gave a presentation entitled “It Takes Discipline.” Mr. Small outlined the commitment and hard work that is required for success as an engineer.
