Overview: |
Please join us for a tour of an operating
nuclear power plant. Exelon’s Limerick Nuclear Plant will host a tour open
to a limited number of AIChE DVS members so register early for this event,
which will surely fill up quickly.
Please note the security restrictions and required personal information
below.

Directions: |
1) Take Route 422 East or
West and exit at the Sanatoga exit ramp.
2) Turn left at the end of the ramp (use caution, cross traffic can be
heavy).
3) Proceed straight to stop sign (about 1 mile). This is the plant
entrance.
4) Go straight into the plant entrance and park in the Employee/Visitor
Parking area (fourth right-hand turn).
5) We will be initially meeting in the Limerick Learning Center located near
the flag pole

Security Restrictions: |
1) Each person will need a government
issued picture ID such as a driver's license or equivalent.
2) Flat shoes with leather uppers are required (no sneakers, no canvas
uppers, no open toes or similar).
3) Cotton clothing or a good spray with static guard is helpful to minimize
radon from outside sources such as homes.
4) Minimize carrying any objects that will set off metal detectors (cell
phones, pagers, large belt buckles, etc.) during the tour. This will help
speed up processing people through security.
Note: Shoes with a steel shank and steel tip shoes will set off the metal
detector and will require removal for inspection.
5) Be prepared for a reasonable amount of walking and stair climbing during
the tour.
6) No firearms or alcohol are permitted on site including in vehicles.
7) All vehicles entering the site are potentially subjected to a search.
8) It will take about 30 minutes to get processed through security.
9) People will be split into groups of five and assigned to a tour guide.
10) All visitors must stay within visual contact of their escort.

Photographic
equipment, Including cell phones require security inspections upon plant
exit and are not recommended.

4) Have you had nuclear medicine treatment within the last 60 days? (yes or
no)
